This celebration, conducted every last week of April of each year, highlights the promotion of essential vaccines and their significant effect on vaccine-preventable diseases to protect the community, particularly the children.

Due to the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, backsliding in immunization was inevitable, which may pose a greater risk to individuals who may have intentionally or unintentionally missed their vaccinations. It is for this reason that this year’s campaign theme, “The Big Catch-up”, emphasizes the importance of the collective efforts of the global immunization community in pushing for the vaccination of individuals, especially children, to control the outbreak of diseases.
